This is my upgraded version of N7 armor from Mass Effect 2 and my new Mantis sniper rifle. Ofcourse every part of the armor and the rifle is self made. With this outfit I won the cosplay contest in the "most similar to the character" category - which means really alot to me, because I am a huge fan of Mass Effect universe... welll, maybe even something more than a fan. Many thanks to Maciej Bozydar Lipinski [facebook.com/InvidiaMe] for professional photosession.
Alright, this is brilliant, you fit the part really really well Also, my favorite gun from any of the games, the only one that even comes close to matching it is the Widow sniper rifle, also from ME2. I'm curious, what materials did you use to make the armor and the gun?
Eva foam for armor and pvc, aluminium, resin, wood for Mantis. And yes, that's true. Many people wants to make Widow because they think it looks badass, though IMO it'sjust an ordinaryrifle - nottypicalfor this game, you can put it to any project - futuristic, past - doesn't matter - and it will fit. BUT - when you look at Mantis - you think "WHOAA!! MASS EFFECT GUN!"
Nice, you have quite a diverse set of materials there. I absolutely love how authentic it all looks too, that gun seriously looks like it should actually shoot. And yeah, I know what you mean about the Widow looking ordinary where sniper rifles are concerned, that's the whole reason it wasn't my favorite. Can't deny it's a powerhouse, but it doesn't have the same Mass Effect look and feel that the Mantis has.
Human Kerrigan is a tragic hero, and Shepard is an epic hero. Maybe girls would feel overwhelmed with negative emotions that Kerrigan carries? I don't know, actually. O.o Thought of making Kerrigan cosplay in the future... (friends said i would fit perfectly), though I am not a fan of Starcraft and that's a problem. Never even played Starcraft... I just saw the story cutscenes few years ago. I am a big fan of ME though - single and multiplayer... so becoming Shepard was very natural.
